
Leo Mobach is an experienced tax advisor in European and Dutch VAT. He works in a solution-oriented manner, strives for consensus where possible, and litigates when necessary. He has worked for clients in multiple sectors of industry, including financial institutions, consumer goods, mobility and logistic services providers, automotive companies, travel and leisure businesses and non-profit organizations.
Experience
Leo started his career in 1988 at Moret Gudde Brinkman (later merged into EY) and in 1992 continued his career at PriceWaterhouse (later merged into PwC). As of 1997 he worked at KPMG Meijburg & Co. and was appointed partner in 2000. Apart from his client work, Leo held leadership positions within the Indirect Tax practice of KPMG Meijburg & Co. and KPMG International. In 2025 he joined the boutique VAT firm EigerTax, which is dedicated to (inter)national indirect tax advice.
Academic
Leo holds a degree in fiscal economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Since 2008, Leo has served as a guest lecturer at the Erasmus School of Law, European Fiscal Studies in Rotterdam and Accent Indirect Tax at VU Amsterdam. As of 1995, he has been author and editor of the Dutch journal BTW-bulletin and the online handbook Cursus Belastingrecht (Omzetbelasting). He regularly publishes about VAT.
